A nonprofit charitable organization founded in1951 to reduce the sum total of pain and fear inflicted on animals by humans. Armed with incontrovertible facts, figures, and photographic documentation, AWI works to protect whales, wild birds, elephants, and other magnificent animals from devastation due to commercial trade, to fight inhumane methods of capturing fur bearing animals and confining farm animals, and to reduce the numbers of and improve conditions for animals in laboratories. |
