The American Society for Agricultural Engineers (ASAE) is a worldwide professional and technical organization of members who are dedicated to the advancement of engineering applicable to agricultural, food, and biological systems, including the environment and natural resources, and to associated industries. ASAE develops and publishes consensus standards for agricultural tractors and machinery, agricultural structures, turf and landscape equipment, irrigation and drainage equipment and systems, environmental aspects of food production and resources management. Note that ASAE Standards, Engineering Practices, and Data are informational and advisory only. Their use by anyone engaged in industry or trade is entirely voluntary.
The publication ASAE Standards 1996 contains all current ASAE Standards, Engineering Practices, and Data. This 800 page book can be purchased from ASAE. In addition, standards can also be purchased individually from ASAE, or on CD-ROM and microfilm (through Information Handling Services in Englewood, Colorado). The ASAE World Wide Web site contains a searchable index of all ASAE Standards, along with pricing and ordering information. ASAE members receive a discount on all orders.
