TPS Technologies Inc. is part of Thermo Remediation Inc., a leading provider of soil and fluids-recycling services for eliminating petroleum contamination, and a major supplier of nuclear remediation and safety services at radioactivity contaminated sites. Thermo Remediation is a subsidiary of Boston Based Thermo Electron Corporation, a worldwide innovator in advanced technologies related to the environment, energy, health and safety.
TPS Technologies' facilities accept only non-hazardous hydrocarbon-contaminated soils. During processing, the soil is screened to remove any large debris, then processed in state-of-the-art soil remediation equipment. The treatment process combines a rotary kiln, a particulate removal system and a thermal oxidizer, which destroys contaminants from gasoline, diesel, crude oil, waste oil, PAH and coal tars.
Once the petroleum-contaminated soils are treated, they are analyzed and certified to meet clean-fill standards. When the cleanup is complete, a Certificate of Recycling is issued as confirmation that the hydrocarbon contaminants have been eliminated.
Treatment facilities are fully permitted by state and local regulatory agencies. All soil storage and processing are conducted within an enclosed facility under strict engineering controls which include impervious synthetic liner, groundwater monitoring wells, and specially designed buildings with sealed concrete flooring, to eliminate the risk of leaching contaminants into the surrounding environment.
